What are computer skills?
Computer skills refers to a wide range of technological abilities, including everything from coding and data analysis to system management and network security.
Many of the essential talents may be assumed by employers if the employee has prior experience in the business, but those with a particular level of skill or an unusual skill set may be able to distinguish themselves from other candidates.
Are there any computer skills on your resume that you don't have, and are you sure your knowledge of them is as current as it was when you were using them? Hopefully, the following list will provide you with an opportunity to brush up on your technical knowledge and serve as a catalyst for creating new professional memories.
On a resume, how do you put basic computer skills?
While describing your basic computer skills is pointless (proficiency in Microsoft Word, for example), there are several specialty computer skills that could be useful in your future position. Carefully select which abilities to highlight.
It's one thing to highlight computer skills on your resume; however, even if you manage to incorporate the commercial advantage that the skills provided, an employer may still want to explore deeper into your ability. If you used this skill a long time ago, your memories may be foggy.
To help you prepare for your interview, we've compiled a list of the most popular computer abilities, along with links to resources where you can brush up on your expertise. If you believe a particular ability is critical to the application, you should conduct some research.

Where to place a computer skills section on your resume
It may be tempting to simply list off all of your computer skills, but your potential employer is much more interested in what you were able to do with them. You can highlight your computer experience in a number of ways on the resume.
1. Resume Summary
Idealistically, the summary should include a few of your best successes, and it is simple to draw attention to the abilities that enabled you to achieve those successes. These might be computer abilities if you have a position that involves technology, thus they should be mentioned.
In these situations, leave the overview section for the most pertinent details since some roles might not necessitate such a high level of computer or tech knowledge. The summary shouldn't be used by a nurse to demonstrate her proficiency with an ECG monitor.
2. Skills section
Depending on the structure of your resume, there should be enough of room in the sidebar for displaying talents, especially if your resume is two pages long. Don't worry about the little things; only include genuine top-level skills that set you apart from your competition in your resume. Start the first page with the skills that are most applicable to the position in question.
Although equivalent computer abilities are required for your career, it is appropriate to combine computer talents with other sorts of skills (such as programming languages should still be grouped together). If machine learning is featured alongside agile/lean management, it will present you as a more well-rounded employee.
3. Work experience
The majority of your skills will be highlighted in the work experience section. Any seasoned professional in the sector will be able to comprehend the necessary computer skills, so you don't need to specify them for each accomplishment. However, this is the area to highlight any specific computer expertise that makes a significant contribution to a given project.
Don't be afraid to double down if there are computer talents that you are enthusiastic about and that allow you to make your distinctive mark because there is some value in reiterating skills across the various areas of your resume.
